Linda Mae Martin

Linda Martin, age 62, of Madisonville, passed away September 3, 2018 in Bryan, Texas. A celebration of her life will be held 2 P.M., Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Madisonville Funeral Home in Madisonville, Texas. Pastor Munroe Rice will officiate the service. A public visitation will take place from 10 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.

Linda Mae (Duke) Martin was born September 21, 1955 in Ellis County, Texas to Joel Samuel & Lonnie Mae (Wilson) Duke. She worked as a landman in the oil industry and had lived in several places throughout her life including California, Houston, Grandbury, Floresville, Pecos, Midland, Odessa and Madisonville. Linda loved the water and going out on her boat. She also enjoyed reading, karaoke and her chihuahuas. Linda had a handful of very dear friends that meant the world to her. She had attended the Cross Baptist Church.

Linda was preceded in death by husband, Allen Martin and father, Joel Samuel Duke. Survivors include mother, Lonnie Thomas of Madisonville; brothers, Joel Ray Duke (Myra) of Bryan, Henry Duke (Bobbie) of Madisonville and James Duke (Kim) of Huntsville; sister, Brenda Brown (Todd) of Bryan and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Linda is also survived by her beloved chihuahuas, Lila and Sassy.
